I focus strongly on patient evaluation and communication, prioritizing patient well-being and safety while administering various treatments. I practice consistent communication with the care team and support my coworkers where possible and needed. I enjoy one on one connection with each patient, making them feel heard and cared for during vulnerable and often difficult situations.

Communicated with mission volunteers and office staff to coordinate needed documentation, flight and housing arrangements, fundraising goals, and more. Arranged travel, office events for up to 60 people, training activities from beach days to survival camping trips, and kept close financial records. I helped volunteers get required vaccines, visa applications, and dealt with flight cancellations and last minute schedule changes. I communicated with incoming class professors to arrange housing and transportation, found language teachers from the area and arranged their schedule and pay, and was a go-between for the volunteers and Training Director. This job was a only a summer position, hence the short amount of time spent there. Before finishing, I reset the training center for the next training period, and updated the job instructions manual by removing old documents and replacing them with updated information. I worked very independently, following written instructions and reaching out for help when needed.

My work included patient identification, consent, and venipuncture under a phlebotomist, with many geriatric and cancer patients where I became known one to call for hard sticks. I also performed physical examinations under a doctor, administered tests such as blood glucose, urinalysis, and fecal occult, became proficient in taking manual blood pressure, had experience with wound care, taught health-related classes, and practiced consistent and thorough communication with providers to ensure proper care of each patient. Practicing consistent documentation was a strongly focused on area of my work.
