As a cna/Hospice aide, my responsibilities include assisting patients with bathing, dressing,and grooming as well as assisting them with transferring from one place to another or repositioning. The transfers are sometimes partial assist and sometimes complete assist. Other responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment for the patients by ensuring that all wheelchairs etc.. are locked before transferring a patient, ensuring that safety rails and devices are properly in place, also making sure that all bed rails are raised before leaving patients bedside if the patient is in bed and that the bed is in lowest position for safety. I also communicate with case managers/nurses on new findings such as bed sores, cuts, scrapes or any new change in skin or change in patients personality, bowel habits, etc...
I maintain on overall clean and sanitary work environment while working with the patient
