• Work collectively with bed management, and other units including OR/ PACU to provide the appropriate bed availability to our patients.
• Help facilitate team productivity with regular communication and progress updates (daily huddles, MDR rounds, and morning operations secure chat), fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Work with the staffing office and the supervisor to determine the number of nurses needed each shift based on patient acuity, census, and specific needs of our unit.
• Create and maintain appropriate assignments for the nurses/students/ orientees throughout the shift.
• Monitor unit to make sure the workplace policies are adhered to/ provide constructive feedback when necessary/ delegate appropriate tasks to staff.
• Assist my manager with organizing and preparing the schedule/ vacation time for our unit; making sure there is a safe number of nurses/ experience on each shift.
• Assist my manager with payroll when needed.
• Temporarily filled in as supervisor at JHN when they were in the process of hiring; making sure all units were staffed correctly and helping resolve any issues that arose during the shift, including calling in INR/OR staff on off shifts when needed.
• Work collectively with the other coordinators/ departments including the education team to make sure our quality and safety metrics/ policies and procedures are being met.

•Clinical staff nurse to 1-2 critically sick patients

•Charge nurse for the ICU on night shift which includes bed flow for JHN and working with the physicians to make sure admissions and any unstable patient in the intermediate units had an ICU bed.

•Making appropriate assignments for the staff nurses/ technicians and their orientees.

•Neuro emergency response team (NERT)- responds to any rapid response/ code blue/ stroke alert at JHN, in addition to assisting the INR team with any patient that needs treatment.

• Precept experienced nurses and new graduate nurses.

• Clinical staff nurse to 5-6 patients on med-surg units

• Floated to the monitor room where I would interpret the alarms on tele units and notify the RN’s accordingly.

• Floated to the EAU (express admission unit), which was ED overflow. I would complete the admission process for the units and care for the patients while they waited for an available room.

•Clinical staff nurse for 3-5 patients

•Worked with the interdisciplinary team to get patients ready for discharge

• Educated family members and caregivers on patient care instructions.

• Assisted nurses as needed with critically sick patients.

• Assisted nurses with transporting patients to imaging.

• Assisted nurses during sterile procedures including ventriculostomy placement, lumbar punctures, central line catheters.
