I consider myself to be a lifelong learner, and am interested in learning about anything and everything.
As a Human Nutrition Foods and Exercise Student at Virginia Tech, I am passionate about learning how food and exercise affect human health and well-being. I have developed research skills through participating in various projects related to nutrition, metabolism, and physiology, and I have gained immunization and paperwork skills through volunteering at the local EMT department/ my horizon project.
In addition to my academic pursuits, I also work as a Customer Service Desk at McComas Rec Center, where I provide friendly and efficient service to the patrons, handle inquiries and complaints, and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the facility. I also work as an After School Worker at St. Mark Catholic School, where I help children with their homework, provide food and activities, and ensure their accountability and security.
Shadowing Dr. Condon at Denver Pediatrics, I was able to see first hand patient interaction, and how staying with the same patients over the course of a long time can benefit healthcare as a whole. These experiences have taught me how to manage my time and work, communicate effectively, and handle large groups of people. My goal is to become a doctor who can apply my knowledge and skills to improve the health and quality of life of others.
