I oversee a team that provides: political analysis, strategic advice and risk assessments to senior UN leadership; support to high-stakes Track I mediation and complex negotiations in multilateral settings; delivering inter-agency strategies for real-world impact; and speechwriting & public communications for senior leaders.
My responsibilities included the management, editorial and research dimensions of the organization. I worked closely with the Executive Director to set priorities for the organization, supervised SCR's budget, liaised with SCR's governance bodies, supervised staff, set work assignments, and manage external relationships. Editorial duties included overall responsibility for the quality control of SCR's publications. I published 300+ articles, posts, and research papers as the lead researcher on women, peace and security, Syria, Iraq, Israel/Palestine, Lebanon and Libya.
I supervised 80 faculty-led seminars and 78 student staff, analyzed and set priorities for the office, advised on the development of new seminars, budget management, administered publication grants, coordinated event programming, edited publications, and maintained the archive.
I planned and organised policy panel discussions, acted as the liaison between the World Policy Institute and The New School, wrote the annual report, managed the Institute's budget and grants, provided editorial assistance to the Institute's publication, World Policy Journal, assisted in fundraising, and coordinated the internship program.
