I earned my diploma in Medical Billing and Coding from Clark University in 2004. Since that time, I have consistently worked as a Billing Specialist working my way up to Revenue Cycle Manager of a remote Billing Team. In my position as Revenue Cycle Manager, I have provided training and support to two offshore billing teams that process many different service lines: Emergency Department, Inpatient, Addiction Medicine and Detox, Orthopedics, General Surgery, OBGYN, Behavioral Health/Mental Health Services. We consistently processed 11,000 claims per month adhering to strict medical billing, coding, and payer regulations. We strive for accuracy and timeliness in the billing and collections processes. I oversee the submission of insurance claims and make sure that outstanding claims are followed up on a timely basis. Working remotely, I supervise a highly integrated team that relies on each other for support. Our primary focus is providing both accuracy and expediency. My team works closely with health care providers to resolve any issues that may arise. To identify trends, I have analyzed billing data from various sources. If a trend is noted that claims to increase revenue, I will investigate further. My focus has always been on supporting and training the best billing practice while still concentrating on patient education and patient care as regards their medical bills. We constantly monitor submitted claims to ensure there are no billing issues and work closely with health care providers to resolve any issues that may arise. We also constantly monitor making sure the front-end processes do not add to the back-end denial management.
