Amelia Wimmer

I want to become a poultry veterinarian and to do this I want to gain experience working with animals. I also hope to learn skills by working in an environment in which I can learn by watching veterinarians work. I worked as an animal shelter volunteer for six months, gaining baseline skills for animal care such as consistent feeding and watering, cleaning enclosures, and distributing medications in correct doses. I have worked with small animals and livestock and can provide diligent and constant care to these animals.

• Civil Air Patrol - Civil Air Patrol is a volunteer organization that is an auxiliary of the Air Force. It has taught me many leadership and communication skills. I have been a member since 2020 and have worked as the Cadet Commander for a year. Cadet Commander is the highest position a cadet can work in. The Cadet Commander is responsible for the efficient running of the squadron and plans and delegates flights in the squadron to complete their goals.
• Mane Challengers 4-H Club - 4-H is aimed at influencing youth to become responsible and contributing members of society. Through this club, I have learned many skills related to handling, managing, and caring for animals. I joined the club in 2018 and served as the club's reporter and treasurer for two years.
• Sports - I have swam for the Aquaventure swim team since 2020 and have been a member of the most skilled group practice for a year. Being a swim team member has taught me teamwork and dedication as swimming is a difficult sport that requires mental diligence. I have also participated in American Ninja Warrior since 2021 and have learned quick assessment skills as different obstacles require efficient adjustments to overcome.
