I have alot of knowledge in the traffic control industry from perm signs to lane closures on the freeways, to building relationships with our most important clients. Im very motivated to share that knowledge and to learn things I don't know about this industry. Safety is very important in our industry and I want to help relay that to our team members.
As yard manager I help assist our road crews with everything they need on a day to day basis. My team helps with getting orders ready making sure everything is accounted for and in good condition for the road. I try to put the best product out because our signs/equipment are a reflection of us. I have managed our inventory here in Saginaw and reorganized our yard so we can be more efficient with getting our product out on the road. Not only that I also have helped Paul with trying to change our environment and safety culture here in Saginaw. Im on our GEBS Safety Committee, and i also assist Aaron Johnson with our toolbox talks and our annual safety meetings. As the yard manager i have embraced my role as a leader and one of our veterans here. I train our crews on any new or exiting equipment we have to make sure they are efficient and as safe as possible. I have a great relationship with all our team members and always willing to help in anyway I can and that includes other branches as well, having worked with the Jackson and Macomb branches. I understand what it takes to be safe in this industry and I do my best to relay that to our crews.
As a road foreman i was tasked with running some of our biggest jobs we had in Saginaw. I was in constant contact with every contractor I was tasked with working with. I had a great relationship with some of our biggest contractors and always on time and prompt with whatever task I was doing. I can set up any kind of closure needed on any roadway/ freeway, as well as extensive knowledge on the permanent sign side of the business pretty much anything to do with traffic control i have done it. I also have helped my laborers with the knowledge and tools they would need to be able to run their own crews. I did make a few mistakes when i was a foreman but I always took that as a opportunity to learn from them and learned what not to do which made me a better leader for my crew.
As a consumer foreman i was one of the original crew leads when we won the CE contract. I had a excellent relationship with all the CE leads I came into contact with. I was always on time, set up ready to go by the time they were showing up. I was in charge of a few big jobs we first had and never had a complaint. As a crew lead I was in charge of flagging, lane closures , detours or anything else they needed. I was always available for emergency work and willing to work any hours it took to get the job done. This was a vital part in me learning the road and learning how to work not only safe but efficient. I was repeatedly requested by multiple different crews because CE leads knew I was reliable and worked hard.
In the yard I was unloading/loading trucks daily. I would also pull sign orders, drums, make sand bags pretty much anything that I was tasked to do I did with a good attitude wanting to learn as much as I could. While in the yard I learned how to load trucks handle our equipment in which helped me when I did go out on the road.
