Key responsibilities:

  • The Department of State funds the project SAHA with 5M USD (Supporting Anti-corruption in Healthcare Administration to strengthen the health system in Tunisia). The project covered areas of digitizing the healthcare system and pharmaceutical supply chain, Capacity-building of MoH personnel via building an e-learning platform and reforming the legal and regulatory public health system
  • I worked overseas, in Tunisia precisely, for a year, contributing to proposal adjustment and managing different aspects of the project. I also organized seven workshops and ten online events with a large number of stakeholders.
  • Contributed to different technical aspects of the project as a subject matter expert in healthcare governance, anti-corruption measures, and conducting research to support the implementation and evaluation of the program.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day follow-up with sub-grantees, government officials, and the project team to ensure quality and time alignment of deliverables.
  • I oversaw budget allocation, following budget variances to implement the scope of the program.

  • Established open and professional relationships with team members to achieve quick resolutions for various issues.
  • Supervising and mentoring contact tracers.
  • I also worked on helping my overcome the challenges and emotional stress of remote work and an emerging pandemic. This effort led to establishing a mental health wellness program for my team and hiring a social worker to follow up with patients in the area we cover.

  • The medical consultation provider for refugees in the bordering area between Tunisia and Libya handling a wide range of non-communicable diseases and maternal and newborn health including reproductive health promotion.
  • Engaging in several initiatives to improve access to healthcare and reach the local population especially regarding type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. These efforts led to allowing the local population of the south of Tunisia to have access to our clinic free of charge and providing essential medications.

  • Follow up on the work of subcontractors and partners while collaborating with the accountant to manage budget, resource allocation, and forecast spending.
  • Generating assessments and activities reports for the coordination office in Tunis and Brussels, identifying potential risks, and suggesting strategic field plans for mitigation.
  • Planned and performed the training of over 700 local and international volunteers on four topics related to humanitarian relief.

Accomplishments

  • Collaborated with team of Arab experts in the development of a substance abuse prevention in Baghdad, Iraq in 2013: Meeting with the Minister of Youth and sports and his Cabinet members. Meeting with a large group of Iraqi youth and activists to discuss the issues related to substance abuse and mental health. I oriented the capacity building program.
  • Capacity building for youth advocacy in healthcare in the West Bank, Palestine in 2011. I organized meetings with all governments officials including the Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas to discuss civil society challenges. Meeting with various NGOs and civil society groups to establish collaborations. These efforts led to a considerable improvement in youth engagement in local and international activities for health promotion.
