I was a caregiver to Mrs. Rachel once or twice a week. She was ambulatory with her walker, but she had Alzheimer’s. My responsibilities included visiting with her, giving her a shower, helping her in the restroom, dressing her, doing her hair and makeup, fixing food for her and feeding her, crushing her pills and giving her meds, checking her blood pressure and vital signs, taking her shopping and out to eat, and just enjoying her company.
