I am an organized and dependable candidate successful at managing multiple priorities with a positive attitude. I enjoy working in a fast-paced setting where care and compassion are paramount. While I have not worked in a professional setting as a LPN, I have used my skills regularly as a homemaker (please see the additional information box below for description).
As my youngest child will start high school this August, I am looking forward to starting a career in healthcare that has been on hold until my children were (almost) grown.
Certificate in Holistic and Integrative Health
Thank you for taking the time to read this! The way my skills have been honed daily have been primarily through mothering my 5 children (3 biological; 1 privately adopted and 1 adopted through the foster care system) over the past 20 years. As 4 of my children were diagnosed with some sort of special need (and some with more than one), I have been involved with many different resources over the years that have offered support, counseling and education on a variety of specialties, such as; Foster/adoptive, Type 1 diabetes, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory processing Disorder, ADHD, CPTSD, children born addicted to drugs and alcohol (and the effects of that, including Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder), Reactive attachment Disorder, Depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, childhood loss, bereavement, genetics and the benefits of genetic testing, as well as a range of physical disorders and illnesses that my children have struggled with. As their advocate, I have exhaustively researched the above subjects for years and did most of my required CEU's in these area's to further my understanding and knowledge. I believe these hands-on life experiences have most definitely added to my depth and range of expertise as a LPN.
