• Routinely assume the responsibilities for spiritual care department when current director is on military leave.
• Regularly serve as lead chaplain, responsible for responding to emergent events and STAT calls, as well as becoming integral part of code and trauma teams.
• Provide consistent support and comfort for patients and families going through illness and trauma; Resolve crises and emotional issues through empathy, support, and active listening.
• Work closely with the Palliative, Heart Failure and other interdisciplinary care teams, participate in family care conferences to provide additional communication, emotional and spiritual support for end-of-life decisions.
• Facilitate the post-death bereavement process for families, including referrals to a variety of educational and support groups, individual counseling, and crisis response resources.
• Lead author for “Patient, Religion, and the Provider”, a chapter for a medical school textbook, Mechanical Circulatory Support, published by Springer Nature. The first time a chapter focused on spiritual care has ever been included in a medical school textbook on LVADs and Total Artificial Hearts.
• Organize and implement Blessing of the Hands twice a year for the hospital as well as the entire campus. A ceremony that touches 500 hospital staff each session.
• Facilitated weekly ICU nursing de-briefs during COVID, focused on the particular and extremely difficult situation of caring for patients during COVID.
• Initiated, organized, and implemented the inaugural Veterans Day celebration honoring the veterans who work at BUMCP, 11/2023
• Helped coordinate and open an integrative multi-sensory healing space for all hospital staff, the Compassion Center, as a member of the Compassion Center Committee.

• Facilitate weekly Spirituality groups in the Behavioral Health Unit.
