Additional Information
I have a wide variety of skills involving working with individuals with special needs. For the last 13 years, I have worked with students at a local high school, mentoring as a job coach, and tutoring as a paraprofessional. While working as a para and being a job coach to special needs students, I have coached students on the spectrum and also many students with learning disabilities to be able to learn how to be able to function in a business setting, and have helped them to gain independence in multiple job settings so that they would have job experiences and potentially job references upon their graduations. Many times during this career, I have had the opportunity to use conflict management, leadership, teaching in small groups, and helping others with time management.
One skill set that I have maintained for many years is an intensive interest in learning different arts and crafts. I've enjoyed finding out about different mediums and teaching myself the skills, and then ultimately teaching others how to do the craft for their enjoyment as well. I taught cake decorating for many years, and have held small group classes in other arts such as painting, crochet, sculpting, bead work and more. I feel that this could be an asset as a skill set to a potential employer as I have a love for learning new tasks.
