  • As a promoted LEAD medical technician for The Lodge, I gained skills to care for patients with vascular, Lewy body and Parkinson's related dementia and other health conditions. Primarily working in the memory care unit, the job training consisted of dementia certification classes, and having updated certificates in BSL, CPR and HCA. These training provided comprehensive medical terminology, risk assessments, fall prevention, and properly passing medications while dealing with crisis management and aggressive behavior.
  • Job responsibilities as a medical technician included; assisting residents with activities in daily living, while demonstrating team work and compassion, recognizing and reporting changes in resident conditions, and supervising a care team. I was also expected to train new team members, oversee medical inventory and reduce shortages. Continually worked with residents who were under hospice care and assist family with emotional support, and provide post mortem care.

  • Job responsibilities included; monitor patient's vital signs before and after treatment, cannulation and attaching patients to a machine in a timely manner, maintenance of dialysis machines and set up of the machine period to patient treatment, and preformed safety tests. In addition, other training and job expectations were obtained patients blood samples, pulling heparin medication and other medications before treatment and responded to dialysis related emergency under nurse supervision. Training provided comprehensive medical terminology, strong skills in cannulation with 15, 16 and 17 gauge needles, cleaning CVC and vascular entry sites. These essential duties allowed me to utilize aseptic techniques while working with CVC (central venous catheter), set up sterile equipment, instruments, Training on needle safety and skills in cannulation.
