I am applying to your company to be DSP for my grandson, Damian Crawford. I've been caring for Damian his entire life. He is a six year old, primarily nonverbal autistic boy. He was removed from the care of his mother last March by DHS and is currently no contact with her so I have greatly reduced my hours at my job at Dallas Retirement to help my son with his care and development. Damian and I spend hours together and we've made great progress with his life skills. He can now dress himself with minimal cues, his hygiene is much improved and we are working on toilet training. Every day we have an adventure; playing at the park, swimming at our local aquatic center, visiting the library or going to church. I love him and want to to all I can to help him succeed in life. I completed a 16 week course through KEEP Connecting Kin that has given me wonderful ideas and tips that I use daily.
