  • Work closely with doctors and midwives in coaching pregnant women through childbirth and post-natal recovery.
  • Get patient ready for a C-section both scheduled, unscheduled and emergency
  • Assign apgars of baby at birth, perform initial head to toe body assessment and vitals of the baby
  • Administer medications (Vitamin K, Erythromycin eye ointment) to the baby
  • Perform sterile vaginal exams
  • Administer medications such as Cytotec, Pitocin, Cervidil, and magnesium sulfate
  • Closely monitor pt on magnesium sulfate

  • Insert foley catheters, IUPC's and FSE's
