- As an aide with Caregiver Support Network I perform all of the same tasks a CNA would. I assist patients with all of their ADLs, such as showering, dressing, feeding, ambulation, oral care, and anything else they may need. Monitoring a patient's well-being is also a key component of the position, and I am responsible for reporting any concerns the patient or I may have to the nursing department in the main office. Unlike working in a facility where there is a relatively controlled environment, I drive to patients' homes and meet them in their own environment. Many patients don’t have certain medical equipment/supplies they would have access to in a facility, they are in their own space of comfort and have unique routines that work for them, they may live with a bunch of family, and there are so many other types of uncontrollable factors. Due to this, I have learned how to accommodate different patients' needs and learn how to make them happy and comfortable with their care.
