Summary

After nineteen years of owning and operating Guerilla Cafe in Berkeley, I’ve decided to close the business and focus on my art career. I tried my best to run a full-time business and maintain my art practice. I used to think that they were separate, but recently realized that they fed each other all along. In my transition into this new phase of my life and career, I’ve chosen to pursue the Masters in Fine Arts Program at UMPRUM in Prague. I spent my youth between the Czech Republic and the US, and I feel the international component of your program is a match for my artistic vision and interest in research. I’ve traveled the world and have a rich tapestry of experiences that will inform my return to university as a mature student. I’m excited to learn from fellow student artists and to share my experiences with my peers.
