In my current position as Assistant customer service manager I have learned many skills including running registers and self check outs, record keeping and retention, and bookkeeping, as well as learning the cash recycler.
I started at Hannaford in 1995 as a deli clerk and worked my way up to assistant deli manager. In that role my duties included waiting on customers and filling their orders, producing salads, fried foods, sandwiches and rotisserie chickens, as well as cleaning. This position also included ordering product and supplies, scheduling, and training new associates. I also learned how to coach associates effectively to improve performance and behavior. I held this position in 3 stores before moving up to deli/ bakery manager and opening a new store in Winthrop, Maine. In that role I learned a lot about hiring and developing my crew to be able to better their employment opportunities. For my work in this area I received the Building the Bench award.

Through Hannaford University I attended training classes such as Train the Trainer, and attended a cheese seminar where I learned about cheeses from all around the world and became a lover of blue cheese. I have been Servesafe certified in the past but have not had to recertify in my current position. I am confident that I could ace the test again if required.
