Work history

English Language Arts Teacher

Idea Public Schools
El Paso, Texas
07.2021 - 01.2024
  • Worked cooperatively with other teachers, administrators, and parents to help students reach learning objectives.
  • Personalized instruction and personal mentoring based on individual strengths and abilities.
  • Boosted student success by maximizing individual learning, balancing group and individual instruction models to accommodate different academic levels.
  • Became a level 3 teacher in terms of Idea's Teacher Career Pathway after one school year due to high student achievements, student input, parent and family input, core values, and manager's ratings on guidepost for excellent teaching.

Undergraduate Senior Project

UTEP
El Paso, Texas
01.2020 - 05.2020
  • Tested the relationship of high concentration of PM in relation to windy days and ozone concentrations in relation to non-windy days, along with seasonal variance throughout a period of 20 years at three different weather stations.
  • Found that the study sites had nearly no relationship between PM, ozone, and wind; wind speed had a dispersion effect on parameter, but parameter concentration was inversely proportional to wind speed; combined regressions and timeline analysis confirmed our hypothesized seasonal variance.

Undergraduate Research

UTEP
El Paso, Texas
08.2017 - 04.2018
  • Conducted research on duck behavior at Keystone Heritage Park at El Paso, TX under a mentorship with UTEP professor Dr. Philip Lavretsky.
  • Tested if duck behavior; such as swimming, feeding/dabbling, calling, flying, preening, etc. differed in the morning and afternoon and the statistical significance. Collecting and understanding waterfowl behavior provides essential info. towards the ecology and resource requirements of species.
  • Presented at COURI Symposium in which I explained how my research was gathered, knowledge of duck species, addressed questions, and how I used my critical thinking and problem-solving skills for the creation of graphs and interpretation of results.
