Achieves the Head Start and Early Childhood Learning goals and objectives by planning, directing, monitoring and evaluating the daily operation of all departmental functions and staff in accordance with applicable tribal, federal or state regulations. Services are directed primarily toward economically disadvantaged toddlers; birth though age 3, and preschool children ages 3 to 5 and their families.
Andrea Pesina has more than 21 years of experience in providing quality educational services and leadership to the Head Start community. She has conducted and directed educational activities and curriculum development in all areas of Early Childhood Education to the children and families of Head Start including classroom organization and management, individualization for children with special needs, parent involvement, staff development, selection of the developmentally appropriate curriculum as well as supplemental material and classroom observations. Andrea Pesina has experience in the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) which is an observation instrument developed to assess preschool classroom quality. Currently serving as the President of the National Indian Head Start Directors Association. Andrea had the opportunity to be apart of Native Nations which was a national level of strategic planning for all Native American children and families. Andrea is always looking to furthering her education and is always willing to learn.
