CSUSM Summer Scholars Program 2020

California State University San Marcos - San Marcos, CA

• The program is a competitive internship hosted by CSUSM to help undergraduate students gain research experience in CSTEM by taking on a project relating to current research being done on their campus. My project was to improve the tracking stability of a virtual reality educational software to minimize issues a user might have while using the software. I was responsible for implementing a new design to the current models and presenting my work at a research seminar at the end of the program.

Macromolecular Structure and Function Program 2021

University of Illinois Chicago - Chicago, IL

• The program is a competitive internship hosted by UIC and allows students to conduct research relating to specific protein structure and their function. My project was in collaboration with UT Southwestern Medical Center and focused on liquid condensates and their role in cellular organization. The goal of the research was to develop a computational representation of two essential protein chains responsible for the structural and functional role of liquid condensates. This was done by developing code to create both protein chains and mimic the density of liquid condensates found in cells. Progression of the project was presented at a virtual research seminar at the end of the program.
