Durga Krishnamurthy

Cincinnati,Ohio

Summary

Expert translational immunologist in immunomodulatory mechanisms in atopic disorders, Co-inventor on 1 approved US Patent), vaccine development (Co-inventor on 2 filed pending patents), lupus disease and B lymphocyte development. Flexible, versatile & an independent researcher with handling de-identified human blood samples, PBMC preparation for immunophenotyping of immune cells such as NK cells and T-cells using flow cytometry and perform ex-vivo functional assays and isolate immune cells from non-human primate tissue (lymph node & blood) and perform in-vivo mouse inflammatory models. Ability to work cross-departmentally, fostering internal & external collaborations with institutions & corporate sectors and present scientific data at internal and international conferences as evidenced by international conferences presentation and travel awards.

Work History

Research Associate

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Center
  • Ability to quickly assess complex situations, design, plan and execute mouse models for vaccine models, lupus disease and CAR-NK cells (cellular therapy), B-lymphocyte development as evidenced by abstracts and presentations in conferences
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and use immunological methods such as isolation of primary immune cells such as NK cells from human blood samples and feeder-cell and feeder cell free based NK cell expansion
  • Proficient in isolation of NK cells from non-human primate PBMC and lymph node and expand using feeder cell system for proof-of-concept CAR NK cells, cryopreservation of expanded NK cells, transfection using Maxcyte system
  • Ability to write clinical regulatory documents and contribute to IACUC protocols & IBC amendments, material transfer agreements with academic institutions for research reagents & resources, and non-profit organizations while mentoring students.

Postdoctoral Fellow

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Center
  • Expertise in implementing effective plans for solutions, and work with mouse models of allergic diseases such as food allergy, airway hyperresponsiveness through skin, intranasal, intraperitoneal injections leading to extra-mural grants from NIH (National Institute of Health) and DoD (Department of Defense)
  • Expert co-inventor, strategic planner, high-level technical, engaged in exploratory & in drug discovery projects and perform desensitization experiments in mouse models with established food allergy and compare innovative strategy to target IgE receptor, FceRIa using antibody on mast cells & other effector cells such as basophils and eosinophils leading to 1 approved US Patent # 9868786 (in commercialization phase, Fresno Therapeutics)
