University Activities

Over the past four years, I have been actively involved in diverse leadership, service, and academic growth opportunities that have shaped both my professional and personal growth. Within Sigma Nu Fraternity, I served as LEAD Chairman and Chaplain, promoting leadership development, enrichment of brotherhood, and value based education. I was a committed member of NSSLHA throughout my undergraduate career and an ambassador for the North Texas Stuttering Support Group. I was approached by my professor to mentor a 13 year old boy who stutters. I also had the privilege of sharing my personal journey with stuttering by delivering a speech to a graduate class of more than 60 students.

My global perspective was expanded through study abroad in Belize, where I provided low income families speech therapy services with the supervision of my professors in which I collected data sheets and wrote multiple SOAP notes. I have advanced training in American Sign Language and with my hispanic background I would love to bridge the gap between Spanish speaking individuals and introduce them to the world of ASL. Additionally, I volunteered at CAMP Camp (Camp for All Disabilities) in the summer of 2025, where I was honored as Tribe Staff of the Week during my very first session as a counselor. This recognition was a collective vote by the camp staff, awarded to the counselor who best demonstrated outstanding work ethic, approachability, and humility throughout the week..
