  • Collaborate with minors' counsel, parents' counsel and county counsel to ensure the families' needs are addressed in court. Ensure that all necessary court documentation and reports are completed and accurate in order to maintain legal requirements and professional compliance.
  • Assisted and helped to develop the Department's Family Connections Program in an effort to connect children who are in permanent placement and/or are hard to place with family, non related extended family members, and individuals who are important to the children. The focus is to build connections with appropriate individuals with the goal that, the connection may lead to placement and build a support network for the child.
  • Extensive experience in conducting child abuse investigations, which included children who are placed in foster care and children who are with their family of origin. Provided families with resources as well as made referrals and connected families with service providers in the community. Worked with law enforcement, health care providers, mental health and other agencies as needed.
  • Monitored client progress towards goals, adjusting plans as needed to promote the safety of children in their homes, as well as assessed for the need to intervene through the court system in order to ensure child safety.
  • Advocated on behalf of clients when necessary, addressing systemic barriers impeding their access to quality services.
  • Assisted families in navigating the child welfare system by providing information and assistance as needed.
