I am part of the Building Bridges with Books Ministry. We visit the Tidewater Regional Jail in Suffolk once a month with women incarcerated who have children or grandchildren.
The women get to chose a book for their child. I help in getting the ladies set up to record them reading or recording a message to their child.
I also participate in Jail Friends in letter writing if anyone wants a pen-pal to write.
Assisted in phone calls.
Typed up and printed the church bulletin
Did other office duties
Helped service members with bills, rent and emergencies.
Trained other volunteers to help with budgeting with service members and family.
I love to make handmade items for my family and friends. I believe the skills I have in this is passed down from my dear Mother.
