BWNC documents the all-encompassing African-American experience, specifically in the United States, but throughout the entire African diaspora by building, sustaining, and protecting a safe platform for voices to be heard and understood.
BWNC documents the Diaspora's cultural experiences globally through storytelling, content creation, content curation & social advocacy to shift narratives and paradigms. Duties include editing, feature writing, content creation and correspondent coverage of national events.
A project of East Tennessee PBS, the Black in Appalachia Podcast through the Black in Appalachia organization is working to highlight the history of African-Americans in the development of the region and its culture. Through research, local narratives, public engagement and exhibition, this project aims to raise the visibility and contributions of the Black communities of the rural Mountain South. This project is a community service for Appalachian residents and families with roots in the region. Duties include writing and podcast production.
