Created the art curriculum for the K-5 campus of 650ish students. The school had not had art in several years.
Procured furnishings, all supplies, a ware cart, drying rack, cutting board, new tables and stools, and decor.
Instructed students in the following art media: pencil drawing, watercolor, oil pastels, collage, clay, mixed media, acrylic, fibers.
Students learned about various artists and the different genres of art and we responded with creative works made by the students.
Created classroom systems for student leadership and developing ownership of their studio space.
Established a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Built relationships with students and their families.
Created an afterschool Art Club for 5th grade where we did bigger projects and built community.
Matted and hung their work for several shows and programs throughout the year, giving them the real artist experience.
I was the team lead for the specials team (art, music, PE, dyslexia, and any specialists that did not have a team).
Led development of two programs that are now annual events. Hispanic Heritage night in the Fall and Black History night in the winter.

Taught K-5th grade, then transitioned to 6-8 as we developed our middle school. (I was highly involved with that endeavor.)
Ordered and managed art room supplies, equipment and resources to maintain consistent supply for projects.
Taught classes on color theory, art principals and elements, art history, styles, genres, clay, sculpture, watercolor, acrylic, oil pastels, collage and mixed media.
Developed a great relationship with my students and my families.
Matted and hung artwork professionally so the students would know how. I taught matting to 4th and up.
Had a solo show for our entire school in our Auditorium, then got us into the Foundry Gallery for three years where the students came to the opening and spoke about their work, then moved into the Main Street Gallery downtown for the best of the best work. They still have this show annually.

I served as team lead to a team of 6 then 12, making sure everyone had what they needed and were represented at leadership meetings.
Collaborated with classroom teachers to create true arts integration lessons. I was trained at the Kennedy Center.
Created special collaborative pieces for- a family who lost their home, an 8 year old that we lost, teachers retiring, Grounds for Justice ministry with Refuge of Light, and others.
Assisted with the musicals every year, painting the giant backdrop, creating set pieces, and working stage left during practices and the shows.

Designed my curriculum with the theme of the Italian Renaissance, weaving math, science, social studies, writing, reading, and the arts.
Created the "Bullseye Forum" which was a quarterly showcase of skits that the students created synthesizing what they had learned. Families and the community were invited.
Helped these gifted students not just with their academic needs, but also in how to manage the anxiety that can come from high intelligence. I taught coping skills and worked with families and main campus counselors as needed.
Taught "Arts Integration for the Gifted Student" to the teachers from the district during summer workshops.
