My name is Angela R. Maestas, and I am writing to express my desire for the position of Assistant Superintendent of Instruction with the William S. Hart Union High School and submit my portfolio for your review. I would like to share information on my background and experience as an Educator, TK -12 Principal, Director, and other strategic leadership roles. In my career I have taken steps to work as well as an Assistant Superintendent, Director of Migrant Education for the Los Angeles County Office of Education and State and Federal Program Director. Other districts I have been fortunate to work with include the Ontario Montclair School District, Alhambra Unified School District, Coachella Valley USD and Program Summer IT programs for USC. As an educational leader who has worked with involved and engaged communities my view and expectations are always committed to individuals with dedication, integrity, and building relationships. I am honored to look at this role in support of students through the role. My personal skills are building strong relationships with families, and students to maximize the potential of each student and how we can do our very best to develop, grow, and lead with personalized care, dedication, training, and support to our schools. personal character, experience, and the dedication I possess. My staff find my role and support unique because I care and take the effort to go above and beyond. We define success and mobilize innovation teams to the leadership. It is an art to bring calm, stable decisions, and work for the concerns of our students and families. We must provide optimum goals share our core values of trust, supporting communities of individuals who have a passion with building effective programs, and engaging our cities, businesses, and students to seek greatness, through opportunities and rich academic programs. In my work, I have used education models and trained with the DuFours, Dr. Trish Hatch, and Dr. Anthony Muhammad on the academic and social/emotional needs of students. As a school leader, I have been responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating programs related to Academic, Attendance, Guidance, and Social/Emotional Support and Development. One of my goals is to provide excellent leadership and support to Management, Classified and Certificated staff utilizing a variety of resources to enhance the highest quality educational excellent. When working with the Department of Education with Migrant Education, my personal abilities were communication, creativity, risk-taking, and a strong work ethic to make things happen. Relationship development and training ensured that we sustained and devoted energy to the development and implementation of practices and procedures that contributed to being servant leaders. I embrace clear direction, joint coordination, and guidance to the District’s counseling services and outside contracted services. This is done with building relationships, being visible, and showing up to schools as needed and also to celebrate the successes. When you look at my personal ethics, my character, and my desire to give every child a chance, it creates schools that excel and have positive school cultures for families and students. My work is a calling and I approach each day with vigor, to learn, listen, commit, and be a visible positive force for academic engagement and support. And I am a strategic to address student enrollment, attendance, student behavior, and doing whatever it takes to inspire our children. We celebrate being at school every day and embracing all of our students. My career started in K-6 early childhood literacy and ELD moving to administration after spending nine years in the classroom, taking on tasks, and being the voice for students, working with after school programs, and developing multiple programs for student enrichment, teacher efficacy, and professional development plans for every dedicated to making sure we are supporting students team member in our schools. Over the past seventeen years, I have been fortunate to work with award winning, nationally recognized public schools and scholars. I have also had the pleasure of bringing about developing and working with leaders in charter schools and alternative learning settings, presenting to state and national audiences on strategies for Program Improvement schools, ELL students and Professional Consulting on Math, English, and AVID strategies and principles. My work has brought me to the place of applying for a position to continue to challenge and offer a fresh perspective, a calm demeanor, and being able to listen and work together. I have worked alongside districts in training and servant leadership on program areas that have specific populations that are served with state and federal dollars. As a participant at conferences, I am constantly developing and preparing presentations for all stakeholders to share LCAP, ELOP, budget, and School Site Plan for Students. Moreover, my personal abilities and strengths have been in the areas of community growth and partnerships between parents, families, and schools to improve the way we foster trust and assure a spirit of growth for all partners. I stand out as an individual that has a passion to inspire and motivate our communities to do more, be professional, and inspire others to achieve the highest level of their potential. A successful school model is dependent upon every stakeholder feeling important and valued, which include teachers, staff, and students along with involved parents and programs with strategic focus on the core areas of instructional needs. My teams in my work have established strong relationships with Cabinet, Trustees, Superintendents and Community. I am fortunate to have been involved at the district, county, and state level to fully understand and support the needs of working to ensure compliance, coordinate improvement, and lead teams through specific work on policies and clear procedures and be reflective on how to continue to improve every school year.
