- The Fun Part
- Getting my hands dirty. Once my managerial duties were complete, I was working, in donations, housewares, clothing, and in the store side by side with my employees. I always told people I was in the office about 5% of the time and the rest of the time was dedicated to the store and its mission.
- Clothing! Clothing! Clothing! I thrived in donated clothing.
- I took what was a flailing clothing department and double and sometimes tripled revenue within a few months.
- Sales under myself and my manager went from $400,000 to a Million our first year.
- Textiles is, or should I say should be, a large part of any thrifts stores revenues. I did that, and was quite proud.
- The store was in shambles, it had no "flow", it was difficult to shop. Myself along with my amazing manager changed the dynamic of the store.
- Customers loved the changes, and we saw a dramatic increase in new customers. Customers who hadn't been to the store in a long time started coming back again and again, telling us how amazing it was and how much better it felt. All the while keeping our regulars patrons happy.
- As a thrift store with a mission, we understood that we were stewards of the donations that the community so generously donated and took that responsibility seriously.
- Honestly, I could go on and on and on about running a thrift store and how much I love it. Just ask my poor husband. That poor guy knows more about running a thrift store than he ever wanted to.

- So before this I ran my own sign company for 17 years
