Retail paint worker

Jill's Paint/Catalina Paints

  • I am experienced with Benjamin Moore & Farrow & Ball paint. I would open or close the shop by counting the register & purging the tint machines. I'd get to work early, turn off the alarm & unlock the doors to straighten up the shop, turn on the computers & sign into them, & turn on our Benjamin Moore commercials. I can lift five-gallon paint buckets & climb a ladder. I know how to color-match with a spectrometer & adjust it. I would order products online from Farrow & Ball, Lancaster, AllPro, & our Catalina Paints Benjamin Moore warehouse. I can put away pallets of inventory & check off the delivery. During downtime, I would front face products & stock the store. I would also keep the tint full in the tint machine. I would often help customers one-on-one with their color selection and product advice. I am very comfortable doing tasks that "aren't my job" because I want things to go smoothly & give customers the service they need. I would accompany customers around the store & grab items they needed for their projects for them. My previous boss, Sam, would say I am a patient listener & an initiative taker.

  • I would open or close the shop by counting the register & calibrating the machines. I would order our food items & put away deliveries. I was responsible for the whole small kitchen, as far as keeping temperatures correct & keeping food prepped & stocked. I would make sure everyone got their breaks & I'd take inventory. Friendly & helpful customer service has always come naturally to me.

  • The reason why I left: The owner sold the location to Unincorporated Coffee Roasters, where I continued to work.
