Angie Ross

Motivated (former) Middle School Teacher with experience teaching required curriculum using engaging teaching methods. Driven to share insightful lessons on grammar, spelling, writing processes and other key areas. Enthusiastic about helping students develop and achieve full potential.

• Leadership role for two of us in our building through the WEA (Waukee Education Association). Met with district officials regarding varied incidents. My co-leader and I represented teachers and issues that occurred.
• Led student ambassadors over 3 years time. Potential ambassadors interviewed with me. Those students chosen spent their advisory time with me, and planned various outreach opportunities (sending cards and handmade blankets to servicemen and women), took supplies to independent animal shelters, planned food drives and winter clothing collections for those in need, etc.

I have had a heart for working with students for most of my life. I loved babysitting as a pre-teen, and from there, I've worked in a couple of daycares, preschools, and finally, public schools. I chalk much of my time working with kids up to the wonderful, kind, compassionate, helpful, and impacting teachers I had over the course of my school years.

I enjoy listening to students working together, seeing their decision-making, asking how they can use their individual writers' voices, and their pride over a tough assignment that became a "job well done". Seeing young people's growth over time has been rewarding, not only for them, but for me as well.
