Behavior Specialist – Middle School

Supported student success by implementing behavior intervention plans, conducting functional behavior assessments, and collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to address academic and behavioral needs. Provided crisis intervention, restorative practices, and skill-building strategies to promote positive behavior and a safe school environment. Tracked data to monitor progress, delivered staff training on behavior support strategies, and contributed to creating a consistent, inclusive, and supportive school culture.

• Maintaining structure while supervising and managing group dynamics. Ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. Supervision of youth during daily routines such as hygiene as well as activities. Providing emotional support through role modeling and positive reinforcement for emotionally troubled youth.
• Would participate in needed physical interventions for residents who would engage in dangerous behavioral actions. Such as harm to themselves or others. Participating and Co-facilitating therapeutic groups in which the teachings of appropriate future interactions and life skills and lessons are discussed. Applying such lessons as leadership, the application of new coping methods, as well as encouraging the assistance of other Child Care Counselors.
• Being expandable and compassionate when assisting residents in understanding rules and expectations. Focusing on their individual treatment plans and providing the individual therapeutic interventions.
• Remaining diligent and consistent when implementing rules and policies, uniformly and fairly. Imposing sanctions and rewards which are following compliance with the residents’ behavioral programs. Completing all necessary paperwork and documentation in a timely manner.

• Evaluate materials and products to make sure they are at the level of quality as specified.
• Execute quality assurance testing using a variety of instruments and lab equipment according to standard procedures, make observations, and interpret findings.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate all equipment.
• Document all test results for every inspection and test conducted in a specified manner with accuracy and responsibility
• Monitor use and inventories of lab chemicals and supplies, ensuring needed supplies are ready by placing orders and tracking receipt.
• Conduct re-testing of products as needed to support quality investigations, analyze, and release data from tests; conduct investigation of out-of-specification results and impact on product quality.
• Support cleanroom environment monitoring and testing, as required.
• Participate in the site calibration program and ensure all instruments are calibrated on time.
