My name is Anjenique Weeks, and I am an Urban Studies major at Tennessee State University, pursuing degrees in Sport Marketing and Culinarian-Hospitality at my previous institutions. I am passionate about public service, community engagement, and equitable city development, and I am seeking to join an organization that works directly with residents to strengthen neighborhoods and create inclusive opportunities. My academic and professional experiences have shaped my goal of supporting community-centered projects from planning through implementation, ensuring initiatives are well-organized, collaborative, and responsive to community needs. Through my Urban Studies coursework, I have studied housing equity, transportation access, and neighborhood revitalization, while my Sport Marketing background has strengthened my ability to coordinate outreach, manage partnerships, and engage diverse stakeholders. Volunteering through my culinary school, supporting community meals and service-based events, further reinforced how thoughtful project coordination can build trust and create meaningful impact. My 4.0 GPA in my Urban Studies coursework has prepared me to examine housing equity, transportation access, and neighborhood revitalization through a community-centered lens. Through my Sport Marketing studies, I have learned how outreach, storytelling, and partnerships can unite communities, support local economies, and build civic pride. In addition, volunteering through my culinary school, supporting community meals and service-based events, has shown me how food, hospitality, and shared spaces can foster connection, dignity, and trust within communities.
Beyond academics, I am actively engaged in civic leadership. A member of NAACP to help securing political, educational, social, and economic equality for minorities. I am a member of COMTO Conference of Minority Transportation Officials , where I explore transportation equity and infrastructure access, and I serve as an Andrew Goodman Campus Ambassador, promoting civic participation and leadership among my peers. Managing operations for my family business, Auto Star, strengthened my communication and organizational skills, while my volunteer work with Hoosier Action provided hands-on experience in community advocacy and policy engagement.
I am eager to contribute my skills, lived experience, and commitment to service to an organization that values community voices, collaboration, and meaningful local impact.
