New York University, Department Of Anthropology - Tiputini, Amazonas Ecuador

  • Collected behavioral, foraging, ranging, and ecological data on three monogamous cebid primates (noisy night, titi, and saki monkeys) at Tiputini Biodiversity Station in Ecuador to evaluate relative importance of paternal care, food resource distribution, and male and female reproductive strategies favoring evolution and maintenance of monogamy in primates.
  • Coordinated and educated students and volunteers, and served as liaison with biologists, conservationists, and indigenous peoples.


Research Fishery Biologist, 05/2004 to 08/2005

N.O.A.A., Northwest Fisheries Science Center - Seattle, WA

  • Organized and conducted field research on behavior, physiology and energy budgets of male and female Southern resident killer whales (Orcinus orca) in the San Juan Islands and Canadian Gulf Islands to determine impacts from vessel disturbances.
