I have been blessed with a son who was diagnosed with Asperger's. It was a tough road at first for everyone. But I do understand the frustration that he felt and the frustration that I felt trying to figure out what worked for him. Heck, we are still trying different coping strategies. But I know we will find the right fit for him. Especially as he gets older and has different problems arise.
I was first hired as a teacher's assistant. I helped with set up of the classroom for that days activities. I also set up the cots for nap time, cleaned bathrooms, classrooms and ran errands.
After the cook left, I was asked to cook. I prepared breakfast, lunch and a snack for 40 to 45 children. Their ages ranged from 1 to 5 years of age, and some had dietary restrictions. Ordering was also part of my job along with rotating and storing supplies as they came in.
We bought homes at auction and had our contractor rehab them.
If the house only needed minor things done, like painting, small repairs etc., we did those ourselves.
