Work History

ORISE Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Department Of Bioinformatics, FDA
12.2023 - Current
  • Design of potential inhibitors of SARS CoV-2 PLpro for Covid-19 drug discovery.

Graduate Research Assistant

Michigan Technological University
05.2021 - 12.2023
  • Explored the role of Zn(II) ions in the overall stability of the Zn(II) dependent Matrix Metalloproteinase-1 using classical MD Simulations. Zn(II) ions were identified to be important for proper communication between the catalytic and hemopexin domains of MMP-1.
  • Investigated the effects of the replacement of the catalytic Zn(II) by Co(II) on the overall structure and dynamics of MMP-1.THP complex.
  • Delineated the catalytic mechanism of MMP-1 with the participation of an additional water molecule in the catalytic site using QM/MM method.
  • Delineated the catalytic mechanism of FTO with pentanucleotide single-stranded RNA substrate and the effects of clinically relevant mutations Arg316Gln and Ser319Phe on the second coordination sphere interactions.

Graduate Teaching Assistant

Michigan Technological University
08.2019 - 04.2021
