My name is Anna McCauley and my goal is to not only be a lawyer but also an effective leader.
With this goal in mind, I had to change my perspective of what is a job. I went from having the mindset that a job is only for making money to embracing the idea that each job is a new experience with lessons to learn.
Being open minded and teachable are two traits that could benefit any company new hire.
From a Bartender to Legal Assistant was a big jump. From being on my feet for 8 hours straight and talking to people all day long to being at an office job in front of a computer was definitely an environment shock. However after being a Bartender I have found that this job taught me social skills with the ability to ask questions without the fear of judgement. I took this skill to my next jobs in the legal field.
As someone who loves to learn and is very curious the Legal field fascinates me. The idea that the laws don’t “change” but how you can approach your application of these laws, and past rulings, per case is a skill I want to master.
As I continue my long journey of building my career I hope to become a sponge of information with a network that will continue to teach me new things along the way.
