I have such a passion for helping others which is why I went into nursing. Now almost five years into nursing I've found what I like/don't like. I've been in both the adult and pediatric world and found out that the adult work is more of my preferred environment. Good Catch Award
I received the good catch award for recognizing my patient was deteriorating. The provider on call didn't think that I had reason to be concerned but I had been taking care of this patient for several nights so I knew what his baseline was. The patients vitals were starting to tank as well as his neuro status was starting to decline. I kept advocating for my patient to receive further testing to see what was happening. After hours of advocating for my patient I was able to transfer him to a higher level of care.
