Additional Training and Experience

  • I have worked for Visiting Angels as an in-home caregiver for 7 ½ years. 7 months in Bend, OR and 7 years in Eugene, OR. I am still presently employed with them. Duties include all hands-on care with ADL’s, following care plans, and updating change in behavior or health status with Case Manager, filling med-minders, and managing medications. Doing end-of-life care for hospice patients, and navigating the emotional and mental challenges during this period. I do errands, shopping, cooking and provide mental and emotional stimulation through designated activities and monitor overall safety and health status. As well as working with other medical team members, such as Physical Therapists, to learn and implement exercises and treatment for maximum recovery benefit with strokes, as well as injuries and disease processes.
  • On a personal level. I helped care for my dad on hospice, administered IV antibiotics and did wound care in an in-home setting. As well as doing IV nutritional support and PICC line management with both my father and Husband.
