Coordinated and led the hospital’s ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) program, ensuring rapid identification, activation, and treatment of STEMI patients across the continuum of care.
Served as the primary liaison between EMS, Emergency Department, Cardiology, Cath Lab, ICU, and hospital leadership to optimize door-to-balloon (D2B) times and patient outcomes.
Designed and implemented custom STEMI tracking tools and performance dashboards to monitor provider and cath lab staff response times, on-call arrivals, and activation efficiency.
Collected, analyzed, and maintained STEMI performance data on physicians and cath lab teams, ensuring transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Led provider- and staff-specific education based on performance data, addressing opportunities for improvement in timely arrivals, activation compliance, and workflow efficiency.
Facilitated regular multidisciplinary meetings with key stakeholders (cardiology leadership, cath lab management, ED leadership, EMS, and quality teams) to review data, discuss successes, identify delays, and implement targeted improvement strategies.
Conducted STEMI case reviews and data abstraction for national registries (e.g., NCDR/ACC), ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
Developed, revised, and standardized STEMI protocols, order sets, and escalation pathways in alignment with current evidence-based guidelines.
Provided ongoing education and training to clinical staff and EMS partners on STEMI recognition, activation criteria, and time-sensitive interventions.
Monitored key performance indicators including door-to-ECG, door-to-balloon, first medical contact-to-device, cath lab arrival times, and false activation rates.
Supported STEMI and Chest Pain Center accreditation efforts, including documentation preparation, performance reporting, and site visit coordination.
Acted as a clinical and operational resource during live STEMI activations, identifying and resolving barriers in real time.
