Hi, my name is Antakeyda Smith, but better known as Mrs. Smith by many. I am from Thomson,Georgia, born and raised. Serving in my third year of teaching, I am currently a 2nd grade teacher that strives to use strong classroom management skills and effective communication with both students and staff. I am very passionate about education and really have a deep desire to help children grow. To promote student learning, I implement active learning hand-on activities to keep children engaged, connect learning to real-world problems, and fosters social development to focus on collaborative strategies to meet the needs of all children. I am committed to creating a possible learning environment to maintain productive learning. Teaching has always been a career that I wanted to fulfill even as a child, but of course life happens. I was determined to still fulfill that dream and here I am! I am currently working on my Master of Elementary Education. The MAT program in education is a big step toward helping me gain the skills and credentials I need to be more successful in the classroom. I am looking forward to gaining as much knowledge as possible to be able to be a principle some day.
