For a decade, I have been part of the City of Port Richey's Utilities Department, a tenure characterized by growth, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to the community we serve. My journey started six years ago as a Utilities Technician. I was entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring, maintaining, and repairing the city's vital utilities infrastructure. This role involved everything from conducting regular system tests and documenting results, to hands-on equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. This position enabled me to develop my technical expertise and my problem-solving abilities in real-world situations. Additionally, I gained valuable insights into our community's needs and how best to address them while adhering to strict regulatory guidelines. After demonstrating dedication and competence in my role as a technician, I was promoted to Utilities Supervisor. This allowed me to leverage my experience and expertise in a leadership capacity. For the past four years, I have led a team of committed professionals, overseeing daily operations, ensuring safety protocols, and maintaining the highest standards of service. My duties have ranged from staff management and training to project planning, budgeting, and coordination with other departments and external contractors. Throughout my tenure in both roles, I have remained committed to the City of Port Richey and its residents. My key achievements include implementing efficiency improvements that resulted in cost savings, improving our team's response time to community issues, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the department. My time at the City of Port Richey has equipped me with a deep understanding of the utilities sector, honed my leadership skills, and heightened my dedication to community service.
