Seasoned professional with a robust background in behavioral counseling and sports coaching, notably at All Care Family Services and True Hands LLC. An expert in strategic planning and motivational leadership, I excel in fostering behavior improvements and team performance. My career is marked by a commitment to academic support and community service, enhancing both individual and group success. I have also been involved in community service for the city of Martinsville for the past 43 years. I've served on many boards, committees, and commissions, all with the intention of enhancing the lives of all the citizens of Martinsville, VA. I've attached a more detailed summary of my community service.
From 1998 to 2002, I worked as a Direct Service Professional, assisting youth and adult clients with daily living activities and documenting their measured goals and accomplishments. From 2002 to 2006, I served as Outreach Manager, responsible for client and employee retention and recruitment, as well as public outreach. From 2006 to 2016, in addition to these responsibilities, I was promoted to Outreach Director, overseeing recruitment, retention, and recruitment efforts.
This is a job that I began working at when I was ten years old. The Albert Harris playground was a city summer recreation program for Martinsville residents. I began chasing softballs that were hit over the hill. As time progressed, I was given more responsibility helping to run the programs, such as men's and youth basketball summer leagues, softball leagues, paddle tennis, and programs like double dutch. I worked at the playground for many years growing up, and I worked for some great men like Clyde Williams, Bruce Dallas, Carl Edwards, and David Draper. It was here that I learned how to be a man in those summers, and it was at the playground that I received my education on community service. As time went
on, I was promoted to assistant director, then director, and I was prepared for this community service position.
