  • As an ER Tech at GW I was trained to work side by side some of the most elite staff in Trauma care and Critical care medicine. One of the most unique things about being an ER tech at GW is that you were also assigned to the Trauma team and had particular functions that were your responsibility to perform for every trauma activation giving expert experience over time.
  • To name a few skills ER Techs perform at GW are IV placement, Blood Draws, Ultrasound IV Placement , Arterial Blood Gas Draws (ABG's) , Splinting(and working with Ortho Surgery when needed for advanced ortho injuries), wound care, EKG's, Foley Catheter placement and management, and Trauma care.
  • Another unique responsibility was to train Medical Students, ER Tech students, EMT/Paramedic Students, Nursing Students, and PA/NP Students.
