The Agricultural Assets Manager was a newly developed position needed to manage and facilitate PM Maintenance, Equipment repairs, Parts Ordering, Tractor Operator/Driver Training, including Driver Safety and Tractor Health, for the four core departments of the farming branches, which numbered well over one hundred Tractors, Planters, Harvesters, and Irrigation Well and Booster Engines.
Also, as part of the Director of Agricultural Assets umbrella, the PM maintenance and repair of the fifty-plus pick-up trucks and five field service trucks with service beds, custom implement trailers, DMV, and DOT regulations were included.
Purchasing: Worked with many dealers, suppliers, and job shops to set up corporate rate accounts, provide quotes, and manage the trade-in or phasing out of high mileage or high hour assets. Considered the best tractor and implement options, keeping in mind the latest emissions technology and best fuel economy when ordering new equipment. Worked with the budget committee to plan and project yearly equipment needs, asset allocation, aging truck, and farm equipment trade-out rotation. Strong focus on equipment 'Up-Time' while working within budget constraints.
Special Projects:
Designed and had built a brand new 12,000 sq. ft. Maintenance facility, to include fab shop and two-story parts storage system.
On-going mechanical repair training of 8 full-time mechanics.
John Deere agricultural and short line equipment sales. Customer safety, maintenance and operations training to include GPS auto steer systems, in field moisture probe systems, JDLink online tractor monitoring network and territory account management.
