At Pie Guys Pizzeria, I acted as general manager after a couple months of being employed there. This job required a variety of skills. On top of my duty as the main cook, I was also responsible for:

  • Preparing the necessary food for the day.
  • Taking orders via in-person and by phone.
  • Helping customers with their needs and requests.
  • Building relationships with our frequent customers.
  • Going on deliveries.
  • preparing catering orders.

I quickly began balancing numerous responsibilities within the first couple of months after learning quickly and being dedicated to provide a quality experience for our customers.

I worked at this job for three full years until they unfortunately had to close down. This job acted as a segway for me to become a responsible, hard working, and dedicated employee. I had many responsibilities that included:

  • Exercising critical thinking when problems arose.
  • Inspected freezer and refrigerator daily to check and maintain proper temperatures.
  • Prevented cross-contamination from utensils, surfaces, and pans when cooking and plating meals for food allergy sufferers.
  • Inspected kitchens to observe food quality and service, food appearance, and cleanliness of production and service areas.
  • Trained kitchen staff to perform various preparation tasks under pressure.
