Reading/Math Interventionist (Grades 1st-5th)

- As Dessau’s current only full time interventionist, I am responsible for using data from Beginning of Year and Middle of Year Universal Screeners and input from classroom teachers to identify students in need of intervention.
- I also work closely with our PDI (Provider of Dyslexia Instruction) to make sure students who have come out AT Risk for Dyslexia are receiving intervention.
- When teachers need help in addressing any academic concerns with their students, they come to me for resources.
- As part of MTSS, I help facilitate scheduling, leading, and taking notes for SSTS.
- I help teachers create Tier II Action Plans.
- When students are identified as needing Tier III Intervention, I assess them using mClass to which skills they are deficient in.
- This data is used to create rigorous and targeted intervention for my students.
- Using this information, I create Tier III Action Plans to target goals.
- Every two weeks, I progress monitor my students and create data binders to use with students so they are always aware of their progress.

- I also use our Pflugerville curriculum maps and TEKS to help students scaffold and build upon what they already know.
- Informal and summative assessments are used to gauge where students are.
- Small groups are used consistently in my classroom to help students who are struggling to grasp grade level concepts.
- I also use workstations where students are able to work together on previously taught skills as well as keep students engaged in digital lessons that are geared towards their strengths and weaknesses.
- It is important for me to work closely with our Special Education teacher, GT teacher, and interventionists to make sure I am helping my students meet their goals and close any learning gaps.

- After meeting with the CILT team, I was responsible for relaying important information to my team.
- I facilitated PLC meetings weekly.
- Topics discussed at PLCS ranged from lesson plans, to upcoming assessments, disaggregating data, and CGI.
- I spearheaded creating a Math Camp and Writing Camp 2 years ago.
- We used previously released STAAR tests and looked at our campus data to know what TEKS our students were still struggling with.
