General:

- Traditional cashier tasks with customers; Completing purchases, online orders, and returns; Answering phone calls from customers
- Assisting customers in-store in a more hands on old school retail sense; Working directly with the customers to help them shop for what they need
- Performing carryout tasks; Taking large purchases to customers’ vehicles
- Opening and actively keeping customers informed about the Macy’s Credit Card; Opening memberships to establish a returning customer base

Department Specific:

- Selling suits and men’s dress shoes; Consulting customers on styles and sizing
- “Recovery”; General upkeep, maintenance, and organization of the men’s clothing department; Maintaining the visual appeal
- Helping to organize stockrooms
- Cleaning and maintaining the fitting rooms
- Organizing and reorganizing fixtures and or tables containing merchandise

• General:
• Helping to organize warehouse in-store
• Unloading deliveries and shipments to store; Subsequently moving items to floor
• Building and setting up displays and coordinating planograms with fellow associates
• Assisting in moving large scale customer orders (bikes, grills, canoes/kayaks, weight-lifting sets, basketball hoops, etc.) from warehouse to front of store; Subsequently carrying to/into customer vehicles
• Assisting customers in-store, including questions regarding different departments if necessary
• Loss prevention and security; Standing at podium in front of the doors (a task assigned to each associate for one hour per shift) and greeting customers; Answering any immediate questions and or directing to another employee or specific department; Handling customer returns
• Department Specific:
• Answering phone calls from customers regarding questions about apparel
• Creating and shaping planograms based on instructions from the company
• Organizing all clothing items and establishing where each item respectively goes in the store
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization to the apparel pad (all of the ground in-store occupied by clothing)
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization to all of the fitting rooms

• Cleaning and maintaining organization within entirety of store; Vacuuming and sweeping at end of night if necessary
• "Racking"; Putting every single order/item shipped to the store in its respective place in the in-store warehouse
• Speaking directly to all customers; Putting all clothing items brought in into the system; Giving customers back their items upon return within the following days
• "Detailing"; Assigning each item of clothing a destination (washing or dry cleaning); Taking note of additional assignments from customers; Taking note of any necessary and or requested alterations
• Creating memberships/accounts for customers

• Answering phone calls from customers and taking to-go orders
• Packaging all to-go orders in kitchen; Confirming with chefs that each order was done correctly
• Taking in payments and giving customers their orders
• Maintaining organization and stock within the carryout room (ensure room contained necessary materials for following day); Sometimes helping to maintain organization and stock in the kitchen
• Food-running to customers in restaurant when short-staff with servers
