BSL-2 Lab: Tumour Immunotherapy Program (TIP) - Immune Profiling Team
UHN requires the completion of medical surveillance forms, a background check, and up-to-date vaccinations. Familiarity with and adherence to research regulations, ICH/GCP guidelines, HIPAA Compliance, and safety protocols are essential.
Lab Techniques: Specimen Processing (Blood, Tissues, Fluids, etc), HPLC, CyTOF Preparation
- Supervised a team of technicians, fostering an environment of collaboration and continuous improvement. Established team priorities through team meetings and daily check-ins.
- Responsible for writing lab protocols and manuals, updating study specific SOPs, and overall data entry.
- Prepared, processed, labeled, and stored patient specimens and samples using standard techniques and equipment according to SOPs for over 40 studies
- Interviewed, hired, and trained lab technicians to perform sample processing and analyzing techniques.
- Set and oversaw safety guidelines for laboratory processes. Responsible for all safety documents, safety checks, amendments, inspections, and safety employee training.
- Submitted Research Ethic Board Renewals and Amendments for over 20 studies.
- Managed lab equipment procurement and inventory control for chemicals and supplies, ensuring timely ordering, restocking, and proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Obtained consent from patients for sample collection and completed patient chart reviews for 5 studies.
- Implemented and upheld quality control protocols, enhancing accuracy and reliability in data entry.
- Coordinated departmental budgets (invoicing and recording received payments) and aided in resource allocation, optimizing lab operations while minimizing expenditures.
- Kept equipment (-80°C/-180°C freezers, centrifuges, pipettes, etc) maintained, facility clean and organized and inventory stocked to maximize performance.
